Another Mural and A Statue About A Snail

Couple of weeks ago I took shots of the side of the Japanese Street Food restaurant and the nearby mural in Gauze Street. Last Friday, i took a pic of a new Mural on Lady Lane (next to a food bank as it happens) and also the statue of May Donoghue.

Childhood in Poverty: Lady Lane, Paisley, 9 April 2021, F/5.0, 1/640s, ISO 100, 50mm

Donoghue was the recipient of a bottle of Ginger Beer which has a snail in it. The resulting court case and victory is the foundation stone of modern day consumer law. Again this statue is a recent addition to Paisley, I think this was unveiled during the unsuccessful bit for UK City of Culture status.

    1. It’s on the other side of that building. Your one is looking down into Lady Lane, while the one photographed here is on Lady Lane looking up towards Wellmeadow Street.
